ASSI, Manmohan Singh 'Mo' - (1946 - 2021) - Manmohan Singh Assi, of Bradford, Ontario, passed away peacefully in the late afternoon on February 21, 2021 at Bradford Valley Care Community.
Manmohan (fondly known as Mo) was born on April 1, 1946, in Jalandhar, Punjab, India and grew up in the village of Sansarpur. He passed away at the age of 74 years old.
Manmohan was born to his mother (predeceased) Beachint Kaur Assi (nee Bhogal) and father, (predeceased) Bawa Singh Assi, both of Jalandhar, India.
He was the youngest of seven children and was the favourite brother. He had two brothers (predeceased) Kehar Singh Assi and (predeceased) Rajinder Singh Assi; and four sisters (predeceased) Surjeet Kaur Channa, (predeceased) Santokh Kaur Sagoo, Kuldeep Kaur Rehency, and Agaya Kaur Bansal.
Manmohan was married for 40 years to his beloved wife (predeceased) Jeannette Maria Assi (nee KleineDeters) and they celebrated a wonderful, happy and devoted life together.
He was proud and wonderful father of 5 children, who he loved very much, Jennifer Robbins (nee Assi), Ravinder Singh (Sharon), Jas Paul Singh, Baldev Singh (Jeff), and Sonia Kaur Bilmes (nee Assi) (Clayton). Manmohan absolutely loved his grandchildren, Kate-Lynn and Hannah Robbins, Owen, Savannah and Keenan Assi, and Nathan and Mila Bilmes. Family was everything to him.
He lived an exciting, colourful and busy life which included living in and travelling to many different countries around the world. He was very proud of the fact he could speak seven different languages. Earlier in his life he played on the Falcons Field Hockey Team for 10 years, and was on the Ontario Field Hockey Team in 1973. One of his greatest passions was playing tennis, and his favourite tennis partner was his best and lifelong friend Peter Watson.
He started his career as an engineer and land surveyor, then became an entrepreneur, having his own business known as Native and Western Crafts. This was his legacy that many people knew him for. He was an extremely hard-working, self-employed business man, working alongside his wife and family. He made countless sacrifices and always put others first. He was also a regular blood donor for many years.
Manmohan had a great sense of humour and loved to make people laugh. He was always the centre of attention, the life of the party, the social butterfly of the family and was loved by everyone. He had a huge extended family and circle of friends, and always made a mark on the communities he touched.
He will be extremely missed by all of his friends and family.

Manmohan was cremated on February 24th. There will be a traditional Gurdwara Sikh ceremony to honour Manmohan, followed by a celebration of life that will be planned for later this year. Arrangements entrusted with Roadhouse and Rose funeral home, Newmarket.
