Hiraishi MaryHIRAISHI, Mary Chiyeko  - May 2, 1924 – April 8, 2021

We sadly announce the passing of Mary Chiyeko Hiraishi, who passed away peacefully, April 7, 2021.

Mary lived a full life in the Willowdale area of Toronto with her two sisters Tomi and Kimi.

She was a legal secretary by profession. In her earlier years, Mary was an avid golfer and a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays.

As a season ticket holder, once she retired, she never missed a game.

Mary was outgoing and loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to places, such as Japan, Hawaii, Vancouver, Victoria, Florida, San Francisco, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

Her family were active members in the Japanese Cultural Centre as volunteers and financial supporters and Mary especially enjoyed volunteering at the Centre's annual spring bazaar.

While Mary never married, she lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count and her family and friends meant more to her than words can describe.

Mary is survived by her sister Tomi and two nephews Jim Hiraishi and Danny Ogaki.

She was predeceased by her two sisters Kimiyo ("Kimi') and Grace Ogaki.

A private service has been held and Mary was interred in the family grave on a beautiful warm and sunny day.

Special thanks to the staff at Midland Gardens Care Community nursing home who looked after Mary so kindly and caringly in the final stage of her life.
