Medeiros TeresaMEDEIROS, Teresa - Peacefully on Monday, June 7, 2021, at the age of 78.

Teresa is now reunited with her husband Jacinto of 59 years in heaven.

She will be forever missed and cherished by her two sons Jim (Sue) and Jesse (Fatima).

Proud grandmother to Sarah (Garett), Mitchell (Cristina) and Lucas, Julia and Mattaeus.

Proud great grandmother to Grayson (Sarah/Garett).

Teresa will always be remembered by all of her living relatives including godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s.

Teresa arrived in Canada in 1960, as an 18 year old teenager. Just days after getting off the plane, she started working at an all girls Catholic Boarding School overseen by nuns located on University Ave.

Unable to afford the 5 cent fare for the TTC ride, every morning began at 5:30 A.M with her walk from College and Palmerston Streets to University Ave, come rain or shine, snow or sleet.

All of her hard earned savings being allocated to rent, food, and the repayment of the airline ticket to Canada with any remainders to be sent back home to her mom and dad.

Following shortly was the courtship that saw her marry Jacinto, the love of her life.

Teresa will be missed, but not forgotten. She was adored and loved by all who knew her. Teresa was always there to brighten the lives of others. She was a kind and gentle soul. Her devotion and firm belief in God ultimately gave her peace. Her sons could not ask for a better mother, so proud and so loved. Family and friends express our gratitude to the staff at St Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto for their compassion and excellent care provided to our mother in her final days.

As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St Joseph’s Health Centre and or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Due to the current pandemic restrictions and under direction from our regulator, the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, all funerals and visitations will be by invitation only to limit the number of people in attendance and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In Loving Memory of Teresa, donations can be made to the following charities: St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
