VERHOEVEN, Sister Mary William, CPS- (February 22, 1945 – June 25, 2021)
Sr. Mary William, Missionary Sister of the Precious Blood, passed away peacefully, after a long illness, at St. Bernard's Convent, on June 25, 2021.
She is the daughter of the late William and Theodora Verhoeven and sister to the late Paul and Maria.
She will be missed by her siblings Annie (Hank), Wilma (Bede), Janet (Larry), Jim (Louise), Joe (Margaret) and brother-in-law Kevin, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family, along with her fellow Sisters and many friends and co-workers.
Sr. Mary William was a registered nurse with a specialization in pediatrics and she held many roles in healthcare administration.
From the age of 32, she held multiple positions of leadership within the congregation.
She had a great love of people and nature especially gardening.
Sister will be remembered for her silent, selfless love and service.
The Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood would like to thank Dr. Berman and his palliative care team and Dr. Kahansky. They would also like to express deep gratitude to the chaplain, Fr. Ian Riswick.
Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Monday, June 28th at St. Bernard's Convent, 685 Finch Avenue West.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
