Way LucyWAY, Lucy - (March 4, 1928 - June 25, 2021) - We are saddened to announce the passing of our Mom Lucy, last Friday afternoon.  Making her way to Heaven at 93, she lived her life as one who defied the odds.

Kind, loving, and hilariously funny, her strong will brought her through many challenges over the years.  A great storyteller and protective momma bear, she loved all whom she knew, but if she didn’t, you knew it.

Born one of nine children, she loved her siblings and their families, and went out of her way to make everyone feel important and welcomed in her circle. With a twinkle in her eye, and smile to match, she was easy to love in return.

She taught us the power of a kind word to both friends and strangers and was not afraid to share her opinion if she believed she could steer someone away from a making poor decision. She had unbelievable intuition, and though at times we argued against her, she of course, was always right.

Her strong messages about life will live on in the hearts of her children, her nieces and nephews, eleven grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.  We will never be able to write all the things that encompass the true essence of this beautiful woman. These simple words cannot possibly do her justice. But Mom, though our hearts are breaking at the loss of you, we know you were ready, and are at peace. We hope Heaven has a good supply of hot sauce, pasta, and Sour Patch Kids for you. We love you with all our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations in loving memory of Lucy may be made to the Canes Community Care would be appreciated by the family and can be made using the link above.

In light of the current global pandemic with the present restrictions placed on group gatherings and the well-being of everyone, the family has decided there will a private graveside service for immediate family only. Arrangements are entrusted with Scott funeral home, Brampton chapel.
