EZER, Paulina Vivian - Paulina Aviva Vivian Ezer, 33, left this world unexpectedly, in her sleep, on June 26, 2021 at her home in Melbourne, Australia.

Born in Toronto on December 23, 1987 to Dr. Asya Kovnat and David Ezer, Paulina grew up in this city before relocating to Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario where she completed her Honors BA in Psychology.

Immediately following her graduation, Paulina worked as a Research Coordinator in the Sexual Health Research Laboratory at Queen’s for over two years. She then obtained a MSc in Health Promotion from the University of Western Ontario. Paulina’s studies in Canada earned her a full scholarship to La Trobe University in Melbourne where she recently received her PhD in Philosophy focused in Public Health Education and Promotion.

Skilled in both quantitative and qualitative research, teaching, and public speaking, Paulina published numerous journal articles, research reports and conference papers before she received her doctoral degree. From very early on in her career, Paulina was sought after as a conference presenter in many countries on several continents. This appealed to her great love of travel and sense of adventure.

For the past two years until her untimely death Paulina was employed by the University of Melbourne as a Project Manager.

Paulina will always be remembered for her many and diverse charitable contributions, most notably as a volunteer at both the Kingston and the London & District Distress Centres in Ontario.

As a much beloved and devoted daughter, a kind and caring step-daughter, step-sister, niece and cousin and a loyal and supportive friend, Paulina will be remembered by all those who knew her for the exemplary life that she led. Paulina was hardworking, unpretentious, compassionate and generous in spirit. In her short life she managed to live with joy and a sense of wonder.

Paulina, may you rest in peace and may your memory be a blessing.

Private Family Service and livestream arrangements are entrusted with Steeles Memorial Chapel.

For those wishing to make a donation, the Ezer family has set up a GoFundMe page to help defray the cost of bringing Paulina’s body home from Australia for burial. Please email Talia, David’s niece, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
