Kerr AlexandraKERR, Alexandra "Sandra" Helen   -  Surrounded by family on November 6, 2021, Alexandra "Sandra" Helen Kerr peacefully passed away as a result of complications from abdominal surgery.

Sandra was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by her husband William whom she was married to for over 55 years.

Sandra was a compassionate, humble and outgoing mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and colleague to many she knew.

Sandra and her husband Bill share 4 children Gordon (Diana), Natalie (Todd), Robert (Kate) and Pamela and grandchildren Katie, Matthew, Amanda, Kylie, Aidan, Sydney and Marlowe.

Born in Montreal, she was predeceased by her parents Walter and Eugenia Koohtow, and sisters Natalie "Sue" and Alice, survived by Geraldine Koohtow and her sisters-in-law Karen Kerr and Eleanor Mitchell.

Sandra was a community activist and longtime council member of Maplegrove United Church and was a member and President of the Ontario Advisory Council on Women's Issues.

She spent 23 years developing the Seniors Programming and LIFE Institute at Ryerson University.

Always outgoing and a community organizer, Sandra had a large circle of friends and a close knit group from Lorne Park school who will fondly remember her. From her dear friend Bruce McLeod "So many were and are so richly blessed to have her close beside them on our hazardous earth-journey, down so many years, yet not enough.

She is still close, but in another way." A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at Maple Grove United Church (346 Maple Grove Dr., Oakville, ON L6J 4V5) on Saturday, November 13th at 1 p.m.

All attendees are required to be fully vaccinated and the vaccination status and ID will be checked prior to the entry to the event.

Thank you to all the ICU Staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

If so desired, a donation can be made to the Sandra Kerr Award in Community Engagement at Ryerson University: https://www.ryerson.ca/giving/where-to-give/ce/.
