Mackie JoyceMACKIE, Joyce Shirley   -  Peacefully passed away, November 6, 2021, in her 83nd year.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Joyce was born in Hamilton, Ontario, on July 22, 1939 and grew up in Burlington.

She was predeceased by her parents William James McTavish and Kathleen Lendzioszek.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years Gil Mackie.

She also leaves behind her children Lisa/Navjeet (Nicholas) and Erin/Ayrin (Thelon) who will miss her beautiful smile, support, and phone calls.

Joyce loved and was loved by her grandchildren Sam, Isabelle, and Tiaga (and baby on the way) who called her Granjoy.

She was the older sister to John McTavish (Terri) and Rob MacTavish (Kathy) and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews, in-laws, and their families.

Joyce was a primary school teacher, lover of music, piano player, and a supporter of the arts and so many artists. She was a great believer in supporting the dreams of family and friends.

Early in life, Joyce beat all odds after a Scleroderma diagnosis in her 20's and continued to live a life of travel and passion into her 80's.

After retirement they spent a lot of time in Naples Florida playing tennis and golf, soaking up the Florida sun, and relaxing on the lanai with Friday night martinis.

A celebration of Joyce's life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Scleroderma Canada, an organization that Joyce dedicated a lot of her time and energy to throughout her life: www.scleroderma.ca.
