BIRRELL, Thomas J. Birrell  -  Died peacefully just before midnight, on January 23, 2022, of complications from Alzheimer's in Brampton, Ontario.

He was surrounded by loving family around the clock in his final days.

Tom was born on April 24, 1932 in London, Ontario.

He followed his Dad into the car business and it became his life's work, including his proudest professional accomplishment of owning and running his own car dealership.

Never one to sit still and inventor at heart, Tom could always be found tinkering or jury-rigging one contraption or the other around the house. He loved sailing and being on the water.

He looked forward with great anticipation to travelling with his late wife, Diane Birrell, to whom he was a devoted and caring husband. He was also predeceased by his dear son Bill Birrell and daughter-in-law Jennifer, his brother Bob Birrell and sister-in-law Helen.

Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his daughters Patricia Birrell, Joe-Anne McCue (Luc Lavoie), Tracy Cresswell (Glen), Leslie Motz (Ron), Carolyn Dunn (Raymond Rutledge), his grandchildren Hayley and Shelby Birrell, Kelly and Erin McCue, Cameron Lavoie, Bryan and Jenna Motz, Caitlin and Braydon Cresswell and four great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID concerns, there will be a private viewing for immediate family only. A celebration of Tom's life and interment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or a charity of your choice in Tom's name, would be greatly appreciated.
