Mohan AnnMOHAN, Ann Teresa (nee GILCHRIST)  -

June 20, 1925 - February 14, 2024

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the peaceful passing of Ann Teresa (Gilchrist) Mohan in her 99th year.

Ann was born in Toronto to Naomi and William (Bill) Gilchrist.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Peter James Mohan.

She was also predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Forestell. Loving mother of Baby Ann (deceased), Peter (Diane), Patrick, Mary Virginia Reid (Thomas) and Timothy (Deborah).

She was a devoted grandmother to Matthew (Kristy), Joshua (Michelle), Michelle (Steve), Naomi (James), Riona, Maura (Peter), Patrick, Theresa (Jason), Kathleen (Kevin), Margaret (Mike), Sheila, Thomas (Marita), Andrew, Veronica, and Christopher.

She also leaves behind seven great-grandchildren (with three more on the way). After the passing of Peter, her loving husband, Ann still found immense joy in being with her children and grandchildren until the very end.

Ann attended Loretto Abbey and went on to graduate with an Honors B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Toronto.

She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega fraternity where she formed lifelong friendships.

Ann worked in the airline industry and at a Bay St. legal firm. She met her future husband, Peter, through family connections and the two rapidly realized that they were made for each other. It was the beginning of a loving relationship that would last until Peter's passing in 2012.

Ann was active in her church both as a parishioner and a volunteer.

The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21st. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 22nd at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 78 Clifton Road, Toronto.

The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare Bayview for their compassion to her in her last years and the staff at North York General Hospital for easing her final days.

Memorial donations made in Ann's name to the North York General Hospital Foundation or Good Shepherd Ministries, 412 Queen St. E., Toronto, ON M5A 1T3 would be appreciated.
