Dignan AnitaDIGNAN, Anita Marie (nee Shea) Dignan  -  Became spirit at 81 years of age after being an absolute warrior in the face of COPD.

Her swift passage has left an aching hole in our hearts. She is predeceased by parents (Neil and Marie Shea) and infant brother John Richard.

Anita was a devoted sister to Paula (Goldwyn Chan), the love and life partner of Paul for almost 60 years, and the world's biggest cheerleader of her three kids, Seán, Christopher, and Cara.

'Nita was a spiritual and spirited thinker, and a true lifelong learner. She was interested in all things, taking great delight in art, music, poetry, and her garden – you'd be a quick friend if you shared in any of those things!

Her enduring friendships and strong connections with extended family nourished her. She was a natural when it came to striking up conversations with just about anyone. We'll miss her sparkle and shine, her good-natured laugh, and her beautiful repertoire at the piano.

'Nita was loved because she loved so deeply herself.

We thank the critical care, ICU, and palliative teams at North York General for their steadfast and compassionate care, with special gratitude to Dr. Daphna Grossman and Nurse Practitioner Shannon Poyntz.

The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles – Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Ave. (south of Davisville) on Sunday, April 14th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church (24 Cheritan Ave.) on Monday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate to your local food bank or a charity of your choosing.
