Kalimin MichaelKALIMIN, Michael  - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Kalimin on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Mount Sinai Hospital at the age of 96.

Dear husband of Olga, loving father of Iris Jean (Konrad) and Michael Peter (Luba).

Cherished grandfather of Michael Andrew (Andrea), Nicholas (Sophia) and Mark.

Predeceased by Mary (2009) his beloved wife of 66 years.

Michael embraced a strong set of values that encompassed a belief in working hard and giving back to the Ukrainian community and Ukraine.

His professional skills and leadership qualities were valued in the many executive positions that he served at the Ukrainian National Federation both in the Toronto Branch and National Offices, the New Pathway Newspaper, in the executive of Ukrainian War Veterans Association of Canada and as the treasurer for the Canadian Ukrainian Committee (KYK) Toronto.

Throughout his life he was devoted to his faith that was a constant compass throughout his life.

>Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family; watching his grandsons grow into responsible young men and celebrating every family milestone. In his later years after losing his eyesight, his favourite pastime was listening to the Blue Jay broadcasts on radio.

Visitation at Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette St., Toronto, on Thursday, April 26th, 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. with Panakhyda at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday, April 27th at 10 a.m. at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 La Rose Ave., Etobicoke.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the UNF Foundation (145 Evans Ave., Toronto, M8Z 5X8) or the Ukrainian Canadian Research and Documentation Centre (620 Spadina Ave, Toronto M5S 2H4) would be appreciated.
