SOUMALIAS, Soultana - May 6, 1927 - March 14, 2021
We lost the brave and strong woman that made our beautiful lives possible.
Soultana succumbed to her final breath on Sunday, March 14th, at Scarborough Grace Hospital.
Our dear mother and yiayia will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her children Tasia, Peter (Giorgina) and Bill; her grandchildren Tania (Chris), Stefan (Stacie), Yiannis (Ashley), Marissa, Alexandra and Paul; and her great-grandchildren Cali, Mason, CJ and Andreas.
Soultana was predeceased by her husband Yiannis, her son-in-law JJ and her brothers and sisters.
She was born in Kastoria, Greece, married in 1945, and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1957.

STAPLES, Andrew William - (August 29, 1964 – March 14, 2021)
With tremendous sadness we announce that Andrew passed away peacefully, at Royal Victoria Hospital, on Sunday, March 14th, 2021 after a battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his life partner Andras Molnar, along with his brothers James and Bruce (Ross) of Toronto, ON.
He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Beth of Kingston, ON.
Together with his life partner, Andrew loved spending time working in his garden and tending to the incredible flower garden they lovingly created.
His love of music eventually led him to St. Barnabas Anglican Church in St. Lambert, QC, where he played the organ and led the choir.

MAK-HO, Gee-Kit - 94, passed away March 14, 2021 peacefully in her sleep, in the Hill House Hospice, with her family by her side.
She was born 1926 in Hong Kong, survived World War II, married to WC Mak, and later immigrated to Canada.
She liked cooking, with many secret recipes written in a small black book. Despite many attempts by her grandson, the “grandma taste” has yet to be reproduced.
She will be dearly missed by her two sons, Raymond and Long, her daughter-in-law Ying, and grandsons Sun and Heng.

Devoted mother of Joshua.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Leonila and Benito.
She was unrivalled in her love for family, dogs, and her sincerity was felt by all.

HUDSON, Frances Ann - Passed away on March 14, 2021 in Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto just a few weeks short of her 90th birthday.
She was born in Annandale, NSW Australia on April 7, 1931, the eldest child of Francis and Monica Hudson and older sister to John and David, both of whom predeceased her.
Ann, as she was known to her many friends in Canada, commenced and completed her nursing training, including a specialty in midwifery at Mater Misericordiae Hospital in North Sydney, Australia.

SKENE, Donald Christopher - 1943 - 2021 Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 14.
A humble and gentle man of many talents and interests, mostly self-taught, Chris enjoyed a rich and varied career in the music, recording and broadcast industries.
As an accomplished guitarist, he was sought after by other well known musicians.
From having his own jingle company to voicing ads for Heineken and many other international brands, hosting a radio show in Thunder Bay to reading the World at Six on CBC Radio, engineering albums for many top Canadian artists including Anne Murray and Gordon Lightfoot to mixing the first Imax movie, Chris did it all with pace, grace and aplomb.

DAVIS, Ian Ward - Ian Ward Davis, in his 85th year, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2021.
Born in London, England, he immigrated to Canada in 1947 with his parents, Robert and Winifred (deceased), and his sister, Margaret.
He will be deeply missed by Jean (nee Kozai), his wife of 61 years, and son Jefferson (Peggy).
Loving grandfather to Ian and Julia, and yellow lab Elska.

He is survived by his loving wife Eila and daughter Debbie (Mark) and his grandchildren Sam and Katie and sister Audrey Thompson.

MACANUEL, Caralinda Mary 'Cara' - Passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2021 after a lengthy debilitating battle with MSA, her family at her side.
Born in Toronto, she was the daughter of the late Alan and Meta Warren.
Survived by her devoted husband, James, who she lovingly put up with for 46 plus years (he made her laugh), her sister Sandra Warren and her brother Larry Warren (Darlene).

PLANTE, Michel E. - Michel E. Plante, 74, of Toronto, Canada and formerly of Sanford, Maine, passed away on March 14, 2021, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
He was born in Sanford, Maine, on January 7, 1947 a son of the late Ovila and Corinne (Lehouillier) Plante.
He attended St. Ignatius School in Sanford and at the age of 13 pursued studies at St. Charles Borromee Seminary in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
He studied all basic subjects, including Latin and Greek.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in French studies from the University of Sherbrooke.

RUNTIC, Raffaele 'Ralph' - It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Raffaele Runtic shares his sudden and unexpected passing on March 13th, 2021 at the age of 56.
Born August 23rd 1964. Raffaele was a loving, caring person with such a big heart and always wanted to lend a helping hand to whoever in need. Many of you know him as Ralph. Ralph will always be remembered for his relentless sense of humour and the ability to make everyone smile.
He is reunited with his Father Joseph Runtic and his brother Joe Runtic. Raffaele will be greatly missed by his loving mother Mary Runtic, his sister Mary Grieco and younger brother Dave Runtic. His brother-in- law Angelo Grieco and following along with his nieces and nephews Emily, Melissa, Michael, Matthew.

VELLEKOOP, Ann - (August 31, 1930 - March 13, 2021) -
The third of five siblings, Ann was born to Arie and Im Glas on August 31, 1930 in Broek op Langendijk, The Netherlands. Ann delighted in the fact that she shared her birthday with then Queen Wilhelmina and that August 31 was a Dutch national holiday. As an adult, Ann was able to recount her fond memories of a happy childhood in vivid detail.

Kantaben got married in 1957 to Ladhubhai Ghaghada.
She had three children, Ashok Ghaghada, Geeta Ghaghada, and Praful Ghaghada.
They all moved to Nairobi, Kenya in 1989 and lived there for 5 years.
In 1993 Kantaben and her children moved to Toronto, Canada.

WILLIAMSON, William George - It is with sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) on March 13, 2021 in his 79th year.
Loving brother of Sharon. He will also be missed by close family members, Ed (June), Ron (Bette), and Ken (Ginny).
Also remembered by many cousins and family members in Canada and the UK.
Bill lived his entire life in Markham spending his early years working on the farm with his father Fred. He then spent the next 31 years working at Reesor’s Marmill in Markham until retirement.

MACLEOD, Robert 'Bob' Angus - Passed peacefully on the afternoon of March 13, 2021 at Woods Park Care Centre in Barrie five weeks before his 100th birthday.
In 2014, he was predeceased by Pearl, his beloved wife of 67 years.
Bob was a loving guide and example to three sons; Brent (Tim), Vance (Roxy) and Scott (Janice).
