Wijesinghe JosephineWIJESINGHE, Josephine Adelaide 'Ada' - “When you lose someone you love, you gain an ANGEL you know” 

Josephine Adelaide Wijesinghe (Ada), 94 years old, passed away peacefully at The Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth on January 21st, 2020. 

She was born on March 16th, 1925 in Columbo, Sri Lanka.

She is survived by her loving husband Edmund Christopher Wijesinghe of 68 years.

She is also survived by her daughter Dushyanthi Anne Weerasinghe, granddaughters Michelle Fernando and Andrea Amaro, son-in-law Rohan Weerasinghe, great grandchildren Joshua, Matthew, Ava and Zoe, grandsons-in law Shawn Fernando and Brain Amaro, niece Lasanthie Tilakratne, nephew Melitus Kulasekera and her dog grandchildren whom she loved, Max and Preston.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard Vincent Rangala and Ellen Cecila Rangala, her daughter Aloma Bernadette Wijesinghe, her sister Irene Rita Kulasekera and her brother-in-law Mervin Kulaskera.  

Josephine will always be remembered as a kind-hearted, compassionate and pious individual who loved all those around her. We truly had an Angel living amongst us.

Mass of Remembrance and Thanksgiving will be held on Friday, January 31st at 10:30am at Holy Family Parish in Whitby, 91 Ribblesdale Drive, Whitby, Ontario. Followed by a reception in the church hall. 

In respect to Josephine’s wishes, there will not be a public viewing. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth https://www.rotaryhospice.ca/support.

The family of Josephine would like to thank Dr. Brooks, the PSW workers, the staff at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth, BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, Father Lazlo, as well as all those who helped and loved her.
