Banoki AudreyBANOKI, Audrey May   - June 28, 1929 -  September 21, 2020

Passed away peacefully in her sleep at Extendicare Oshawa on September 21, 2020 at the age of 91.

Predeceased by her beloved husband George Frank Banoki (2001).

Adored aunt and surrogate mother of Melody (John), Willow and Chris (Yolonda).

Beloved grandmother and nana of Megan, Kirsten and Katie Hawley, Hayley, Bryce, Kelsey and Shelby McGraw and Ally Clifton.

Great gramma of Marlee-May and Paige.

Audrey also leaves behind her very special friends, Rev. Dr. Roberta Fuller and Anne Fernley. Fondly remembered by Sylvia and Patrick Thomas and daughter Vanessa of Calgary.

During her career Audrey worked for many years at Air Canada before starting her own travel agency Runaway Travel in Toronto.

Audrey will be fondly remembered for her life-long love of her many siamese cats, and for her artistic abilities, especially painting.

She was very proud of her British heritage, especially meeting Sir Winston Churchill as a very young woman!  She enjoyed travelling the world with George, meeting new and interesting people everywhere they went and in later years, relaxing at their retirement home in Fenelon Falls. She led a life of adventure and fun!

The family wish to extend their gratitude to the compassionate nursing staff of Extendicare Oshawa for the exceptional care shown to Audrey and her family. Due to COVID-19, there will be no formal funeral services, but a celebration of her life is planned for the future.

Arrangements entrusted to THORNTON CEMETERY and  FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787).

Donations will be gratefully accepted for the Canadian Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or a CHARITY of your choice. Expressions of condolence may be left at  etouch.ca .

“…keep calm and carry on…”
