McLEAN, Jean Mitchell McLean - Jean passed away on Saturday February 5th at Ajax Pickering Hospital at the age of 91, with her children by her side.
Mum has gone to be with love of her life, her husband of 65 years, Alex, in heaven.
Mum leaves behind her son Callum, his late wife Danielle, daughter Morag and her husband Stindar, Granddaughter Erin and her husband Matt and her great grandchildren, the late Alexander and Ryan.
Jean left Scotland in 1951 to follow her future husband Alex to India, where they were married. After a brief return to Scotland, they spent time in Nigeria before returning to Scotland again then immigrating to Canada in 1965.
Mum was the heart of our family and always there for her children, which she clearly put first.
We would like to thank the staff of 3E at Ajax Pickering Hospital for their exceptional care of Mum, during these trying times, they are true heroes.
We would also like to thank the staff, particularly Bev, of Traditions of Durham Retirement Residence for their care of Mum during the last three years.
Also, a special thank you to Josie, a family friend, who made a big difference in Mum’s life the last five years.
Honouring Mum’s wishes, there will not be a funeral or visitation and cremation has taken place.
