HOWES, James Edmund Howes - 1929 - 2022 James Edmund Howes of Pickering, Ontario passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Ajax Pickering Hospital on Saturday March 12th, 2022, at 92 years of age.
Even though a failing heart took him away from us, his loving heart left a lifetime of cherished memories.
Jim (or Jimmy) is predeceased by his wife of 70 years Kathleen and his daughter Frances (Charles).
He is survived by his daughter Maureen and son Edward (Lesley). Jim was a beloved grandfather to Christine (Alastair), Annette (Joe), Sal, Evan and Bryce (Amy); and adoring great grandfather to Sienna, Liliana, Domenico, Aidan and Clara.
Jim was born in East York and was the youngest of three siblings.
Upon graduating from Danforth Tech Jim started work at IBM in 1950 as an electric typewriter technician.
In 1951 he married the love of his life and they started a family the following year while residing in Scarborough, Ontario. Jim enjoyed retirement for the past 30 years spending much of his time with family and friends who love and will miss him dearly.
The Funeral Service will be held in the McEachnie Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 3:00 p.m.
Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
