Predeceased by her son-in -law James.

Much loved and cherished grandmother of Ryan (Alice), Drew (Jessica), Amanda (Travis), Amber, Amanda (Ken), Amy (Kristin), Rebecca (Michael), Joelle (Brian), Bradley (Kayla), Emily (Vincent), Wyatt (Alyssa) and Jayden.

Great Grandmother of Ryder, Cooper, William, Porter, Harlyn, Olivia, Charlotte, James, Miles, Kelton, Mason, Evelyn and Samuel.

First born of five siblings to Roman and Hertha on July 11, 1935, in Germany.

At the age of 17, Christa came to Canada on the Cunard R.M.S. Scythia, which set sail on July 17, 1952. The ship arrived in Quebec City, and she was met by her Aunt and Uncle. Christa ended up staying in Canada for the remainder of her life.

While here she registered in Nursing College and started her career in 1955. In the same year Christa met the love of her life and became engaged. The following year they were married and shortly after began their family. Two years later they purchased their first home in Brooklin where they lived for the rest of their lives.

Christa and Joe purchased a summer home in Bancroft in 1971. The cottage soon became everyone’s happy place where wonderful memories old and new have been created.  Christa was very proud and loved her family immensely.

She always had a story to tell and a smile to share. Christa was our rock and the glue that binds us together.

Visitation at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME  , 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Wednesday May 11th from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00. Funeral Service will take place in the Barnes Chapel Thursday morning at 11:00 am.

Christa will be laid to rest beside her husband at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, in Heaven far above, And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.

But when I walked through Heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me and told me “Welcome Home.”

So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m right there in your heart.
