Wilson MargaretWILSON, Margaret Claudia (Kewin)  -  October 11, 1918 December 27, 2022

Surrounded by her loving family, Marg Wilson passed away peacefully at home, in her 105th year, on December 27th, 2022.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Wallace (1995).

Loving mother of Bonnie Welsh (Keith), Cheryl Magda (Peter) and Janice Stainton (Douglas).
Adored grandmother of Jeffrey Welsh (Martha), Robert Welsh (Leslie), Candice Lewis (Bill) and Jason Stainton (Michelle).

Loving great grandmother to Taylor Welsh, Wilson Welsh, Owen Lewis, Finlay Stainton, Sydney Lewis & Meredith Welsh.
Predeceased by her parents Klauder and Ida Kewin of Oshawa and her brothers Jack and Doug (Ruby). Fondly remembered by Anthony Howell (Giada) and her many nieces and nephews.

Marg was born in Oshawa in 1918. As she grew through the roaring twenties, she developed her impeccable sense of style and remained the most fashionable person in the room, even as a centenarian.

She attended O’Neil Collegiate in the 1930s establishing an everlasting love of dancing and sports.

In 1941, during the early years of WWII, Marg married Wallace Wilson, her beloved husband for over 50 years.

Their family grew quickly with the addition of 3 daughters in the 1940s as Marg juggled raising their young family and supporting the military and hockey career of her husband.

Settling into Oshawa in 1948, Marg and Wally developed many lifelong friendships and a love of travel. There always seemed to be a party or celebration that was filled with joy and laughter and the love of life. In the 70s, Marg and Wally moved to their “Farm” near Orono.

They were prolific hosts and could have no greater joy than their home filled with family and friends – particularly if you became snowed-in and continued the festivities for another day.

Marg always relished her Irish heritage, often reveling in song and feeling no day was complete without potatoes to eat and a wee dram of Irish whiskey. Marg returned to Oshawa in 1997, where she lived with family as their revered Matriarch.

She watched the Bruins and the Blue Jays, laughed and cried, and allowed her friends and family to bask in her unconditional love, generosity, quick wit, incredible stories, and unmatched listening skills.

Marg was a force of natural energy, small, mighty, and a blessing to all that knew her. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kevin Graham and all the personal support workers who enriched her later years.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held by the family.

Donations in the memory of Margaret Wilson to the  CHARITY of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
