Ann passed away peacefully, at the age of 98, on Friday February 2, 2024.
Beloved wife of James (predeceased) for over 47 years.
Cherished mother of James (Anna), Mary McGeown (Tim Commisso) and Anne (Dan Smegal).
Loving Grandma of Maegan (Jason Weese), Kristen (Brock LaLonde), Katy (Alex Short), Jenny, Stephen and Alison Ann. Loving Great Grandma to Hunter, Sierra and Oliver.
Ann will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends across Canada, Scotland and the United States.
Ann was an active member of St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church for over 60 years and a member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 65 years.
Retired in 1986 as Supervisor of Payroll and Accounts for the Durham Catholic District School Board where Ann worked for over 20 years.
Ann served as a dedicated volunteer for many years with her own parish, Catholic Family Services of Durham, Participation House Durham, and St. Vincent’s Soup Kitchen.
Ann and her family would like to thank the staff at AgeCare Samac (formerly Wynfield LTC) for their compassionate care and an extra special thank you to the staff of the McLaughlin Bay area who filled Ann’s final years with love and laughter.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday February 7, 2024 at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. West Oshawa, ON from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Prayers will be said at 4:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday February 8, 2024 at St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church, 690 King Street East, Oshawa, ON. Christian burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 355 Taunton Road East, Whitby, ON. will follow the mass.
