COWIE, William Robert   -   August 11, 1927 - December 5, 2022

It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of William Robert Cowie.

Known more commonly as Bill, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022, at Etobicoke General Hospital.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 77 years, Dorothy Lillian (Hicks); his son, William (Bill), and wife, Barbara; daughter, Janice, and husband, Phil; and son, Robert and Theresa.

Bill was also blessed with six granddaughters and one grandson: Celine (Bryan), Deanne (Rick), Janine (Doug), Denise (Arek), Ashlea (James), Leslie (Brendan), and Patrick. Loving great-grampa to Brynn, Billy, Cole, Brayden, Hudson, Harper and Jack. Bill is also survived by his brother, James Edmond Cowie (Jim) of Bradford, Ontario.

Born in Napanee, Ontario, on August 11, 1927, Bill was predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Mae (Plumley); father, Thomas Leo Trilsbeck; along with his stepfather, Adam Robert Cowie.

Our father, our grampa, our papa is already deeply missed. His sharp mind, quick wit and sense of humour will be fondly remembered by all who have met Bill. A caring and generous soul, protective and wise. A proud Canadian who cherished his family.

May he rest in peace. Visitation will take place on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m., and the funeral will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Weston Chapel, Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Rd., Weston, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the War Amps Charity.
