RAY, Catherine Anne (SCHADE)  - Passed away suddenly at her home Friday, August 17, 2018.

Beloved wife for 59 years of the late Ronald Dixon Ray (2013).

Left to mourn are her children Leslie (John Welwood), Ian (Linda) and David, as well as grandchildren David and Jamie Welwood and Tyler and Lauren Ray.

Mom was born November 23, 1929 in Windsor, Ontario, the only child of Henry and Dorothy Schade.

She enjoyed a happy carefree childhood, spending summers at Glen Bernard Camp from 1936 - 1948.

Mom met Dad, the love of her life, when they were 14, as they both attended Walkerville Collegiate and St Andrew's Presbyterian Church.

She graduated from University of Toronto in 1951 and did the 'Grand Tour' of Europe by car in the summer of 1952 with 3 friends. She and Dad married May 22, 1954 and moved to Don Mills in November 1955.

Mom was a very active member of St. Mark's Presbyterian Church Don Mills for almost 63 years and volunteered at Thompson House, a seniors' home, for 40 years.

She was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt.

Mom was a champion bowler and loved the Blue Jays. Her favourite place was the family cottage on Lake Huron near Kincardine where the Rays have summered since 1956. Mom and Dad rarely missed watching the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band Saturday night parade.

She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 15th at 11 o'clock at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 1 Greenland Road, North York, ON M3C 1N1 with a reception to follow in the church hall.

Visitation will take place Friday, September 14th at St. Mark's from 6 - 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the Ray family respectfully requests donations to either St. Mark's Presbyterian Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
