AIKENHEAD, Thomas Boyd - April 2, 1926 - September, 2, 2018
Tom, a veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy, passed away peacefully at the Sunnybrook Hospital Veterans Centre Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the age of 92.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Jill of Thornhill, Ontario; her son David; and daughter Susan (Rick).
He will be forever loved and missed by his children Linda Jane, Susan and Tom Jr. all from California.
Much loved grandpa to Kristen, Justin, Lacey, Giselle, Liz, Charlie and Vicky. Survived by his brother Bill and sister-in-law Pat of Markham, Ontario and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his sister Nancy Bell. Tom was born into the Aikenhead family dynasty well-known for their successful Aikenhead hardware retail stores founded in 1830 where he spent 35 years involved in its expansion to 25 stores across Canada.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, 230 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto in its East Chapel.
