KARAMITANIS, Pakomia (Doumtsis) - Our beloved wife, mother and Yiayia passed away suddenly yet peacefully at home on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at age 86.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ilias Karamitanis, and two children, Peter Karamitanis and Sophie Lagopoulos (Karamitanis).
She loved her son-in-law, Michael Lagopoulos, and daughter-in-law, Paula Karamitanis.
She was the proud Yiayia of Stephanie, Maria, Ilias, Alexis and Jiulia.
This past year Pakomia saw three of her five grandchildren marry- Stephanie and Scott Thompson; Maria and Irem Kaplan; and Ilias and Alexandra De Gasperis.
Hours after her passing Pakomia became Proyiayia (great-grandmother) to Charlie Neil Thompson, son of her eldest grandchild, Stephanie and her husband Scott.
She will be remembered as being hardworking, dedicated to her family, a great cook, and proud of the family she built.
Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Centre, Toronto on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 3:30-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in St. John Greek Orthodox Church, 1385 Warden Ave. Toronto at 10:30 am on Monday, November 5, 2018. Interment to follow at Scarborough, ON.
