RAVEN, Sheila (nee Blutstein) - It is with profound devastation and painfully broken hearts that we say goodbye on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 to our beautiful, brave, devoted, and giving mom. Sheila fought an extraordinarily long and courageous battle against illness, and she will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, caring, and generosity.
Daughter of the late Bella and Jerry Blutstein.
Beautifully and deeply loving mom of Joanna Raven and Dan and Mai Raven.
Beloved sister of Gloria Schwartz and Morry (Suki) Blutstein.
Cherished aunt of Sherri (Phil) Newman, Scott (Gretchen) Schwartz, Jeremy (Jarhn) Blutstein, Tim Blutstein, and the late Pamela Schwartz.
Proud great aunt and great, great aunt to many. Dear friend of the late Harold Raven.
Special thanks to Dr. Neill Iscoe, Dr. Yee Ung, Dr. Arjun Saghal, Magdalene Winterhoff, and Kristal Lewis at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre, Dr. Natasha Leighl at Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr. Shirley Kopolovic, Dr. Jack Sandler, Kay Cohen, Sandy Kahn, Lisa Kronenberg, and Samantha Miller.
We would also like to acknowledge and thank all of Sheila's longtime friends and neighbours, who have exemplified the best of humanity in both celebratory and trying times.
Sheila had a positive impact on countless people's lives, including throughout her 34 year career in elementary teaching. She will be sorely missed and will continue to be a loving inspiration to all.
At Benjamin's Park Memorial Chapel, Toronto for service on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. Interment in the Community section of Pardes Chaim Cemetery. Shiva 66 Windsor Court Road, Thornhill.
Memorial donations may be made to Princess Margaret Hospital (Lung Cancer Research), Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre, or the United Jewish Appeal.
