MARQUEZ, Lydia Principe - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lydia Marquez on December 9, 2019.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her memory will live forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her children: Dolores Marquez, Remi Ilagan, Felicito Marquez, Orlando Marquez, Patria Paguiligan, Julieta Munusami, her 22 grandchildren, and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was born in San Juan, Philippines. Lydia lived the earlier half of her life in the Philippines, where she raised her nine children. She loved and cared for her family, always keeping them as clean and as well fed as she could.
In 1980, she made the move to Canada to try to give her children a better life. She worked in a factory, to provide for the children she brought with her to Canada, and help the ones she had to leave back home in the Philippines.
When she retired, she spent her years caring for her grandchildren. Her life was devoted to her family, and her faith. She lived a long and happy life, surrounded by people who loved and cared for her as much as she cared for them.
Visitation will take place at Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre, Toronto on Friday, 13 Dec 2019 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM. The service will be held at St. Maria Goretti Church, 717 Kennedy Rd, Scarborough on Saturday, 14 Dec 2019 at 12:00 PM.
