Constance AlverdeCONSTANCE, Alverde FerdinandIt is of great sadness to announce the passing of our loving father Mr. Alverde Ferdinand Constance on January 16, 2020 at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family.

Alverde Ferdinand Constance was born in St. Vincent & the Grenadines in the West Indies to parents Matilda Job and Edward Constance, step-son to Fishroy Job. He immigrated to Canada in 1971 and took residence in Scarborough, Ontario.

Mr. Constance was the beloved husband and best friend to Amelia Letticia Constance for 60 years. Predeceased by his siblings Ardon Peters, Allison Constance, Allida Vallantyne, and lovingly remembered by siblings Rev. Victor Job, Elister Job, Idalia Job, and Cynthia Job-George.

Loving father of Meterene Durrant, Alverde Constance Jr., and Smeaton Constance (deceased), Giovanni Joseph, Jerry Constance, Calvin Constance and Loretha Constance-Schofield.

He was cherished by his grandchildren Franklin Fraser, Dovina Constance, Roderick Constance, Ian Schofield, Chance Constance, Kidisha Joseph, Isaiah Schofield, Jamal Durrant, Chad Constance, Shila Joseph and Savanna Constance. He will also be remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Alverde Ferdinand Constance has dedicated his life to his family and to his Lord and Saviour. He was a very devoted man who has spent many years actively involved in the church and has been well known to be one of the first founders of the B.M.E North York Pentecostal Church, in which all of his children were raised in and had the pleasure of witnessing his dedication of serving the Lord.

Alverde Ferdinand Constance will be missed by many family and friends who have had the opportunity to be touched by his presence, words of knowledge and encouragement.

Please join the family in his celebration of life. Visitation at Ogden Funeral Home 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough, ON, M1S 1T3 on Friday January 31st, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

Visitation will also be held at Rosewood Church of the Nazarene, 657 Milner Ave., Scarborough on Saturday February 1st, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m, followed by the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Pine Hills Cemetery, Scarborough, Section 13
