Leo JosephLEO, Joseph "Joe" Anthony   -

January 26, 1932 - April 19, 2024

 

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Leo in Toronto, at the age of 92, surrounded by the love of his family.

 

He was born in Toronto to Vincenzo and Maria.

 

Joseph was a devoted husband of 68 wonderful years to Marie (nee Avola).

Loving father to Jim (Debbie), Teresa (Sergio), Marianne and Jill. Adored grandfather of Joey (Samantha), Andrew, Rudi (Emily), Alexa and Michael. Great-grandfather to Jasper, Fox, Leo, Aurelia and Alessandro.

 

Brother of Kay and Lucy. The family would like to thank the staff of D3 Wing at Sunnybrook Hospital for caring for Joseph. He will be missed and fondly remembered by all of his many nieces, nephews and friends especially his lifelong friend, Frank Mattucci.

 

In memory of Joseph, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Sunnybrook Health Sciences.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Friday, April 26, 2024, from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road East. Funeral Mass will take place in the Chapel within the Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
