KURTA, Wolf 'Willie' - It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Willie Kurta at Credit Valley Hospital on April 17, 2020 at the age of 95.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Jane Kurta.
Father and father-in-law to Bruce and Julie Kurta, stepfather to Elverina Battaglini and Stan Laba, Lori Battaglini, Jacqueline Battaglini, Lisa and Nick Benfield and Michael Battaglini.
Adoring grandfather to Robyn & Jered Shoychet, Taylor Kurta & Daniel Kent, Isabela, Gabriela, Liam Kyle and the apple of his eye great granddaughter Bea.
He will be dearly missed by cousin Molly Gross, niece Lori, nephew Brian and their families.
Willie came to Canada, by way of Israel, after losing his entire immediate family in the Holocaust. He worked hard in the fur trade after which time he went into the restaurant business in Toronto and Niagara Falls.
He was always known for his kindness and his laughter.
Willie's favourite song was "My Way" and he lived a long and healthy life "his way." He will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic a funeral and shiva cannot be held at this time.
