Gouveia DomGOUVEIA, Domingos Amaral  - April 22, 1941 – June 30, 2020 -

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Domingos Amaral Gouveia on Tuesday June 30, 2020 at the age of 79.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, the late Maria Dos Anjos.

He will be forever adored by his children, Domingos, Odilia (Mario) and Jorge (Leslie) for his loyalty and kind heart.

A proud and loving Vavô to Matthew, Madison, Jorgia and Charlotte, who will always carry him in their hearts.

Loving son of the late Agostinho and Maria Jose.

Beloved brother of the late Maria (late Manuel), late Beatriz (late Jacinto), late Ema (late Jacinto), late Manuel (Beatriz), and the late Joe (Maria Dos Anjos).

He will be greatly missed by his many Godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was our pioneer, emigrating from Sao Miguel, Portugal in 1959 to start a new life in Canada. His hard work ethic enabled him to sponsor his wife and his many siblings to join him to start their own lives and adventures. He will be remembered for his impeccably clean Volvos, his manicured lawns and his ability to keep flowers blooming even after a heat wave.

We will be eternally grateful for his love, devotion, generosity, passion for life and his “sempre para frente” attitude.  His smile and compassion made him a friend to many, always choosing to spend time with those he cared about.

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the viewing and funeral will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are appreciated.
