Circelli ShirleyCIRCELLI, Shirley Thompson - (November 18,1929 - August 7, 2020) -

Heaven gained a beautiful angel in the early morning of August 7, 2020. There is a deep hole in all of our hearts as we announce the sudden passing of Shirley Circelli, who died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 90.

A beautiful life well lived, it’s still challenging to find the words to describe the heart and soul of a family. Shirley was the matriarch of the Circelli clan, having raised five beautiful children with her late husband, Dino Circelli (deceased 1977). They married shortly after the Second World War and moved from England to Toronto in 1949 to start their life together.

One thing’s for certain, her classiness and sassiness will be deeply missed by her daughter Diana Zirone (Frank), late son Frank Circelli (Jane), daughter Rosemarie Lynett, daughter Linda Circelli, and son Michael Circelli (Anna).

Shirley was the proud grandmother to six grandkids- whom she loved and adored- Lauren Circelli, Will Circelli, Carol-Ann Ruiz (Patrick), Andrea Lynett, Mallory Sandy (Richard) and Ryan Circelli and great grandmother to Emma, Jack and Poppy. She’ll also be greatly missed by her cousin Romaine Chappell, sister-in-law Gabriella Circelli, John Lynett, Gary White and extended family.

Additionally, Shirley had many wonderful years and adventures with two amazing gentlemen, Frank Smith (deceased 2015) and Tony Carrozza (deceased 2010).

If you ever met Shirley, you’d know that family was her entire world. Followed close behind by travel and adventure, a hot cup of tea, full glass of Pinot Grigio and live music. She cherished a good party and a sparkly dress and was often the first one on the dance floor and last one to leave! Shirley knew how to live life to the fullest and her generous spirit, kind heart and beautiful smile will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

“Your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words. And missed beyond measure.” We hold years of memories in our hearts and minds; but nothing will ever be the same now that you are gone. Although, we take solace in knowing that we are all better people for having been loved by you! Enjoy the party in the sky – they’re lucky to have you! We love “OLIVE” you xoxo

Arrangements with Paul O'Connor funeral home, Scarborough. A small private service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.
