Macnaughton BrianMacNAUGHTON, Brian Malcolm - Brian MacNaughton, 70, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, ON, after a long struggle with Glioblastoma.

Beloved son of the late Malcolm and Myrtle.

He is survived by his two daughters Ashley (Patrick) and Brittany (Andrew); grandchildren Carson and Callie; two brothers Robert (Linda) and John (former spouse Karen); dearest friend Teresa Fraser (John); nieces and nephews: grandnieces and grandnephews and best friend Brian MacLean (Sheena).

Brian was born and raised in East York. He spent his childhood summers at his grandparents' farm in New Brunswick with his two brothers and the majority of his leisure time through adulthood at the family cottage on Crystal Lake. Here he was sure to be found enjoying hot dogs and molasses cookies after long summer days on the water demonstrating his expertise as a water skier.

He took on his father’s business MacNaughton Electric in the 80’s and after retirement in the mid-2000s maintained his skills with several small projects. He loved the outdoors and being surrounded by nature and could regularly be seen in recent years swimming along Lake Simcoe or biking the nearby trails.

Brian was a kind and gentle individual with a fierce determination and sense of humour that he maintained to the very end. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends but his spirit will live on.

A small family only service will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home, Aurora. Memorial donations may be made in Brian’s name to Hospice Simcoe. https://hospicesimcoe.ca/ways-to-donate/
