SHAND, Joan Marie (Dowding) - Passed away peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital on November 5, 2020 at the age of 92 after a brief illness, while surrounded by family.
Beloved wife of Gordon (deceased), and loving mother to Mark, Barbara, Gregory (Janet Duffenais), Catherine Cunningham (Brian).
Cherished grandmother to Andrea Shand (Gareth Kent), Alexandra Shand (Jason Harney), Stephanie Shand, Megan Cunningham and Derek Cunningham (Anna).
Great Grandmother to Liam & Ewan Kent.
A special thank you to Gillian Gomez (PSW) for her daily visits and extra support and to Sharon Knight-John for her years of friendship.
Joan will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Joan had an immense love for family, friends, and sweets (Purdy’s chocolates and homemade Pralines).
She always looked forward to time with family and loved her visits from her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and don’t forget visits from her grand-puppies.
In lieu of flower donations can be made to, Canadian Cancer Society, Covenant House or a Charity of your choice.
Due to COVID restrictions, the visitation and funeral services will be held privately by invitation only. If you would like to attend the service or visitation, please contact a member of the family directly to reserve your seat.
While the family wishes you could all be with them in their time of loss, they appreciate your kind words and condolences.
