Brown ElsieBROWN, Elsie Betty Marion (Marshall) Brown   - Passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2021, in her 89th year.

Born to John and Edna Marshall on August 24, 1933 (Sprucedale, ON), Elsie was the youngest of 10 children.

Predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-two years, John David Brown (deceased 2017), whom she shared three sons with: Douglas (Bernice), Robert (Margaret) and Richard (Margaret), and three grandchildren: Jessica, Stuart, and Hannah Brown.

Elsie was a selfless and altruistic person who touched countless lives, including her friends, neighbours, and immediate and extended family – especially her many cherished siblings, nieces, nephews, and, more recently, great-grandchildren.

Those close to Elsie will fondly remember her dedication to her passions, including charitable causes in Thornhill and beyond (IODE and Black Creek Pioneer Village), a lifelong love of gardening, and an unwavering commitment to her various creative outlets, particularly knitting and her pursuit of building the perfect dollhouses for her granddaughters.

Elsie always offered a welcoming home and open heart to those around her.

She lived a life full of love and accomplishment, and will be remembered for her wit, kindness, thoughtfulness, and loyalty.

Public Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Kane-Jerrett North York Funeral Home, (6191 Yonge St.,) from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.

A private family funeral will be held in the chapel. Cremation to follow.

If desired, in memoriam donations may be made to either the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to Diabetes Canada.
