CAREFOOT, Lorraine (nee JONES)   - It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Lorraine on December 30, 2021 at the age of 70 at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington.

Lorraine fought a courageous, lengthy battle with cancer with tireless dignity.

She will be greatly missed by her husband David, sons Chris (Zeina) and Scott, and her adored grandchildren Max, Cameron and Ronan.

Dear sister to David (Pam), Sandy (Phil), Bev (Doug), and Larry (Deb).

Lorraine was truly dedicated to the care and well-being of her family and although not a professional nurse, she had vast knowledge of the loving care needed to treat family illnesses.

She was known as no-nonsense Lorraine, and one look could remind you that you had crossed a line that she did not approve of. Her sons still remember the flying slipper routine when Lorraine thought they were misbehaving.

She was an avid fan of solving puzzles, music of the 70s, and reading mystery novels and would spend hours in her favourite chair enjoying these passions.

The family would like to thank Carpenter Hospice for the support and encouragement given to Lorraine while she was participating in their Wellness Restorative Yoga and Music Therapy programs.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to the Burlington Carpenter Hospice or Canadian Cancer Society.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 3-5 p.m. at the Smith's Funeral Home in Burlington. A private family service will take place the same day. Dress will be business casual. Proof of vaccination will be required and masks must be worn within the facility.
