MONK, Ron   - It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of Ron Monk on January 1, 2022.

He is survived by his loving wife Bridie, his sister Marg and her loving family.

He was a great stepfather to Terry (Margaret), Michele (Anthony), Kevin (Maria), Neil (Louise) and Peter.

Loving Grandpa to Conor, Jade, James, Erin, Tara, Chloe, Lorene, Renee, Keira and Ryan. Great-grandpa to Ava.

Ron worked at the Toronto Star for over 40 years.

He loved his job and often talked about it. He belonged to Printcraft Bowling league and enjoyed it immensely. Getting together with his buddies was what he loved to do.

He also was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Edward's. He has such an admiration for this group of dedicated members.

There will be a visitation at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home, Thornhill, Ontario, on Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the family will be having a private funeral service.

He joined and fit right in and loved every moment of it if you would like to make a donation in lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Vincent de Paul would be deeply appreciated.

In many ways, Ron was an old soul.

When you did something for him, he always said, "thank you kindly." Now I want to thank him kindly for his love and support for the last 32 years. With love, Bridie.
