TARNOWECKYJ, Julia (nee Krupa)   -  Our dear, sweet mother, Julia, passed away peacefully, on October 6, 2022, in her 93rd year.

Born in Bezmichowa, district of Lisko, formerly Ukraine (now Poland), she immigrated to Canada in 1952.

Julia worked hard raising her family and ensuring her children learned about their Ukrainian heritage and culture. She always found time to tend her lovely gardens; her roses were admired by everyone.

She taught us how to make preserves so we could enjoy the bounty from her vegetable garden year-round.

The holidays were always special, as we all looked forward to Baba's feasts. Julia was happiest when we all gathered at her table and she always urged us to "eat more".

Loving mother of Christine Warden, Irene Tarnoweckyj and Oksana (Jeff) Ankenmann.

Cherished Baba to her grandchildren Aric, Tania, Natalia (Naidel), Michelle (David), Jaclyn (Mario), Terra, Will, Julia (Jesse), Benjamin; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob, David, Kyle, Christian, Niko, Matteo, Sienna and Jack. Julia will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

We wish to express our gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Trillium Mississauga Hospital for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to helpushelp.charity/donate to support displaced and orphaned children in Ukraine.

Visitation will be held at Cardinal Funeral Home, 92 Annette St., Toronto, on October 11, 2022, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., with Panachyda prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be held at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3625 Cawthra Rd., Mississauga, on October 12, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow.
