REEKIE, John Fraser Reekie   -  Passed quietly, at the age of 79, at Cummer Lodge, Toronto, on Thursday, November 3, 2022, from the complications of COPD and Alzheimer's Disease.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Allan. John was brought up in Barbados and always considered himself a Bajan.

He attended the Bristol School of Art, U.K. He graduated with a degree in graphic design, and shortly afterwards immigrated to Toronto where he worked as a graphic designer.

He was a long-time member of the National Yacht Club, and was a steady volunteer on the launch and haul out crew.

An avid sailor and racer, he was crew on Amapola, Papagena, and Soulmender; and bowman on Marauder. Sadly, John lived much of his life with bipolar illness.

He was happiest when sailing in the Caribbean.

He will be remembered by Margaret and Colin Baxter, Eleanor and George Farkass, Susan Cartwright, Elizabeth Johnston, Rick Crouse, Rod McCormack, Karen Chandler, Mark Anderson, and by members of the National Yacht Club.

Many thanks to the very caring staff of 4 South at Cummer Lodge, and to Dr. D Zeldin.
