De Groot JohnDE GROOT, John M.  -  John Medard De Groot passed away in his sleep at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre on November 9, 2022.

He was born on a kitchen table in an old farm house outside Oakville -which had neither a furnace nor running water- in the winter of 1926.

He joined the RCAF in 1944, and after the war earned a degree in electrical engineering at the University of Toronto, at which point he married Lois Hutchings who also became an engineer. Lois died in 2013.

He is survived by his son, Eric, his wife, Kikue, and their two children, Gordon and Lia; his daughter, Nancy Glandfield, and her husband, Ken; and his eldest son, Philip.

We will remember him on December 14, 2022, at the McDougall and Brown Funeral Home, 2900 Kingston Road, Scarborough, Ontario. N-95 masks will be handed out at the door.
