GIBSON, D.E. "Ted" - October 15, 1940 - January 24, 2023
Born and raised in Kenora, Ted was a lawyer, engineer, investor, curler, houseboat captain, outdoorsman, and general know-it-all who was a lifelong student of the world.
He inherited a passion for helping people from his mother, Nan, a community health nurse.
From his father, Bob, he learned a profound respect for the natural world and to be a fearless advocate for justice.
He was the first member of his family to go to university, and went on to become a legal pioneer in the North. He produced a folk album and loved to listen to music when he was happy, which was whenever he was with his friends and family.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Beverly Wexler; his four sons, David, Rob, Marc and Geoff; and soon to be eight grandkids.
A family service will take place on Friday, February 3, 2023.
Memorial donations may be made to the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation, the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
