DAYNARD, Donald Britton -
Born October 19, 1934
We are sad to announce the passing of Donald Britton Daynard in Victoria, BC, on April 20th, 2023.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Lynda; daughters Shawn and Tara; daughter through marriage Jewel; grandson Matthew; granddaughter Andie; sister Paula; brother-in-law Ted; as well as many lifelong friends. He is predeceased by his son, Britt.
Don will be rememebred for the many different roles that he had held throughout his life, including his success as the number one morning host in Toronto radio for several decades, retiring from his career with 98.1 CHFI in 2003.
Don loved the silver screen, which came second only to his passion for collecting books, especially on Egyptology and the HMS Titanic.
Don grew up in a loving home in Owen Sound, but lived most of his life in Toronto.
Retirement brought him and Lynda to beautiful Vancouver Island in 2014, where they lived out the remainder of his years in Sooke and Ucluelet.
Don was loved; Don was loving; Don was irreplaceable.
Lynda would like to thank the hospital staff in Victoria General for their compassion and care of Don in his most challenging circumstances; and also CHFI, particularly Michelle Butterly, for their support.
There will be a Celebration of Life held at Highland Funeral Home - Scarborough (3280 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1T 3K3) on Saturday, May 6th, 2023, at 2:00pm.
