FERGUSON, Marilyn Joan (nee DAVIS)   - With deep sorrow and much love, we mourn the peaceful passing of a wonderful mother, on May 19, 2023, after a brief period of illness.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, the Rev. Alan Ferguson; her parents, Jim and Hazel Davis; and her siblings, Peggy Profit and Ted Davis, her kind and generous spirit lives on in her children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who had the pleasure to know her.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Amy (Brian Budd), and Michael (Lana); and her cherished granddaughters, Michaela, Blythe, Paige, and Carly.

Also remembered by brothers/sisters-in-law, Keith Profit, Michelle Davis, Jean and Bob McGinley, and Sheila Ferguson, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Marilyn was born on March 21, 1939, and raised in Alderwood and Long Branch on the Lakeshore in Toronto.

A graduate of the Nursing program at Toronto East General Hospital (1961), caring for others - patients, family, friends, and strangers - was one of her defining traits.

Her faith was a central part of her whole life, and she found ways to share the love of God wherever she found herself - nursing in remote British Columbia; supporting dad in parishes in rural Saskatchewan, Thompson, Manitoba, and in the Toronto area; volunteer work with children and adults with intellectual disabilities; working as a palliative care nurse; and if she ever found out that someone was going to be alone at Christmas, she insisted they join our family for Christmas dinner.

She loved crosswords and other puzzles, and passed on her devotion to Jeopardy to her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 1 p.m. at St. Aidan's Church, 2423 Queen St. E., Toronto.

If desired, memorial donations to LOFT Community Services, or PWRDF, two of her favourite charities, would be appreciated.
