Starkey LucelleSTARKEY, Lucelle (Lucy) May   - December 26, 1919 - October 29, 2017

Passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on October 29, 2017 at the age of 97.

Predeceased by her husband Robert.

Loving mother to Roberta Blatchford (Wayne), Heather (Saunders), and Laura Murray (Martin).  Cherished grandmother to Michelle (Scott), Michael (Heather), Ashton and Dalton.

Great-grandmother to Emma, Ethan, Nathan and Isla.

Born in Manchester, England, Lucy spent many years as a resident of King City, Aurora and Newmarket. For several years, Lucy and Robert owned Cobblestone House Nursing Home in Aurora where they compassionately cared for many elderly patients.

In addition to her warmth and caring nature, Lucy had many gifts - a deep love of animals, a passion for sewing, knitting, baking, and a special love of song and dance. She will be remembered for her wonderful kindness, gentleness, beauty and grace.

Special thanks to staff on the MSK Unit (Southlake Regional Health Centre), Dr. Harold Yuen, Dr. Carter Thorne, and Melissa Joisten (R.N., SRT).

A Celebration of Lucy's life will follow at a later date.  Arrangements with Thompson Funeral Home, Aurora.

The family suggests that anyone wishing to make a donation in Lucy's honour to consider choosing St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program OR Parkinsons Canada.
