CUSHING, Neil Anthony  - Passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 in his 90th year, enveloped in the loving embrace of his family.

Neil's mantra was, "If I felt any better I couldn't stand it."

True to this maxim, Neil never darkened the door of a hospital until two weeks ago.

Neil was well known in both his neighbourhood and in his inclement weather haunt, the Home Depot, for his brisk daily walks. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Mary Cushing, his siblings John, Eileen, Margaret, Paul, dear brother Donal (Jean) and wonderful son-in-law Peter Dill. Loving father of Karen Cushing (Bill Martin) and Jacquie Cushing Dill.

Beloved grandfather of Caroline, Allison, Kyle, Katie, Mary-Elizabeth, Stephen and Jamey. Upon graduating from University of Toronto, St. Michael's College in 1949, Neil's outstanding careers at Moore Business Forms and Royal LePage garnered him numerous awards and commendations. Member of AA for over 44 years. Neil's love for his family was all encompassing. Nothing made him happier than being in the company of his daughters, their families and his extended family. A lover of travel, Neil relished his extensive adventures throughout the world and beamed when sharing his journeys. What a legacy he leaves for all who had the privilege to know and love him.

Visitation will be held at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Cross Funeral Home (211 Langstaff Rd. E.), on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. Interment, with reception to follow.

In memory of Neil, donations may be made to Markham Stouffville Hospital, Epilepsy York Region or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
