STOKES, Margaret Dawne  -  February 28, 1937 - February 24, 2018

Margaret (Margie) Stokes of Fort Myers, Florida passed away at the age of 80 at Hope Hospice.

She was born in Toronto to the late George and Louisa (Williams) Sexsmith.

In the 1970s she was instrumental in creating the East Agincourt Community Association, the East Agincourt Softball Association, and helped in the development of playground equipment for C.D. Farquharson Public School. She was an active fundraiser with her husband Cy for muscular dystrophy.

After moving to Florida with her husband she enjoyed planning weekly community events to encourage friends to mix and mingle. She was one who cared about everyone and always enjoyed visiting friends and family.

She is survived by her loving son, Wayne and many loving nieces and nephews who will very much miss her and her wonderful laugh. Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband Cyril Stokes (2005), her sister Lois Smith and her brothers Delbert, Frank and George.

A service celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, March 17th at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 2635 Cleveland Ave., Fort Myers, FL 33901.

While flowers are appreciated (as Margie loved receiving them), she would be pleased to know that donations can be made in her memory to Hope Hospice on Healthpark Circle in Fort Myers at donate.hopehcs.org This wonderful Hospice took loving care of Margie in her final days.

May she rest in peace.
