Born July 31, 1915, she was a former resident of Unionville, Ontario, and previously Toronto. Former employee of Beaver Lumber (Toronto Head Office).

Daughter of the late Neil Blue Henderson and Jane Louisa Ruddle.

Predeceased by her dearly loved husband Daniel McFall Steenson (1988), her beloved son Danny Steenson (1957) and much loved grandchildren Natalie (1985) and Paul Trottier (1990).

Lovingly missed and cherished by her twins Kathleen Marie Trottier and Neil Danny Steenson and son-in-law, Yvan Trottier.

Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Bethany, Robert, Kailey Chretien (Jon), Ben and Luc (Jessica), and her great-granddaughter Imogen “Immie” Chretien.

The family would like to thank Marie’s Family Physician, Dr. Catherine Lawlis, for her excellent care since she moved to Holland Landing in 1999. Also many thanks to all the Personal Support Workers and especially to PSW and friend, Nancy, who cared for Marie with love and compassion over the last couple of years. Their help allowed Marie to remain at home with family which was always her desire.

Marie lived a full and wonderful life with her remarkable energy, genuine warmth and kindness she showed to everyone who entered her home. Her family meant the world to her, including her little Mandy, the family dog. She will be deeply missed and always remembered and loved by all her family.

Visitation will be held at Taylor Funeral Home, Newmarket, on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at 4:30pm to 6:30pm. Service will be at 6:30pm followed by refreshments. Internment on Thursday August 2, 2018.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Hospital for Sick Children or JFJ Hope Centre (Jewels for Jesus Adoption Centre), which would be deeply appreciated by the family.
