HOLT, Robert - May 20th, 1963 - March 24th, 2021
“It is with the heaviest of hearts and profound sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved Robert Gordon Joseph Holt (57), on March 24, 2021.
Robert was a valued employee at the Toronto Star, working in the Print and Press room.
In his spare time, he loved wood carving, starting (and sometimes completing) DIY projects, spending time with his family, spending time outdoors, fishing, and hanging out with his best bud Abby.
Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Robert managed his illness with strength, positivity, and resilience.
He was a loving husband and best friend to his wife Susan.
Robert was an amazing father to their daughters Stephanie (Mike) and Kimberly (Devyn), who he adored more than anything else in the world.
He was a proud grandfather to Ava, Mackenzie and Maverick. Robert will be greatly missed by his best bud and four legged companion Abby.
Robert also leaves behind his two parents, Theresa and Bob (Aster), siblings Donna (Tom) Jeff (Rhonda), Maureen (Joe), David (Martha), Elena (Sue), Aunt Helen, and various other family members and friends.
Robert was predeceased by Jerry (step father), Don (step father), Shane (uncle), Doris and Jim (grandparents).
The family will hold a private funeral this weekend and asks that any donations made in Robert’s honour go towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Private family visitation and service will be held at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME on Saturday morning. Robert will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
