Lukomski MieczyslawLUKOMSKI, Mieczyslaw - (August 30th, 1941 - March 25th, 2021)

Passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, at the age of 79, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.   

Beloved husband of Janina Lukomski.

Loving father of Andrew Lukomski, Virginie (Mark) Sanders, and John (Tina) Fallis.

Cherished grandfather of Sean, Matthew, Grace, and Julia.

Predeceased by his first wife Christine, his infant son Joseph, his parents Helen & Wladyslaw, and his brothers Jan and Jozef.

 

Mieczyslaw (Mike) was a committed family man who worked tirelessly for those he loved.

He overcame many adversities in life but maintained an optimism and a will to always move forward which became the cornerstone of his family.

He touched many lives through his wisdom, memorable stories and unique way of connecting with each person he encountered. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, maintaining his home and gardens, traveling, spending time in prayer and discussing history and politics.

He served as a dedicated ironworker in both France and Fittings in Oshawa, then as a GM Truck Plant employee for over 30 years and was an active member in the Polish club on Banting Ave.

Special thanks are sent to Dr. Shim, Dr. Benahashemi and other doctors and nursing staff at the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre (DRCC) who supported him through 5+ years as he continued to beat all projections. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29th from 4-7 p.m. at the  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME (124 King St. E., Oshawa).

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 30th at 11 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment Mount Lawn Cemetery.

Due to COVID19 restrictions, registration for the visitation and service is required. If you wish to attend, please register at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOMEor by calling 905-433-4711.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers may be sent or memorial donations may be made to the DRCC.
