Henry GordonHENRY, Gordon Malcolm  -

July 4, 1954 – March 19, 2024

 

Gord passed away peacefully, having been surrounded by many caring friends and family in his last days.

 

Gord lived with his parents in Port Credit until 1 month past his 18th birthday, when he moved to the L'Arche Daybreak community in Richmond Hill.

 

Gord experienced an incredible life for 42 years and enriched lives of people he met from around the world.

Gord loved playing floor hockey, bowling, swimming, riding his bike, dancing, picnics, watching hockey and baseball on TV.

 

Gord was a deeply spiritual person all his life. Wishing heartfelt gratitude and a sincere thank you to L'Arche Daybreak whose staff, volunteers, friends, and core members continued to offer love, support, frequent visits and sense of belonging to Gord right up to the very end of his life. In February 2016, Gord moved to Elginwood Long Term Care in Richmond Hill.

 

A sincere thank you to the staff at Elginwood LTC for providing exceptional care, love and support to Gord. Gord is now reunited with his parents in Heaven, Pat and Warren Henry; his eldest brother, Brian and younger brother, Ian.

 

Gord leaves behind his sister-in-law, Paulette Bissonnette (Brian's spouse); his sister, Joan Vogel (Paul); nieces, Miriam Vogel and Julia Vogel Allen (Tim); nephew, Brennan Vogel (Myriam); and great-nieces and nephews, Teo, Aneya, Jonah, and Serena.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations to L'Arche Daybreak would be sincerely appreciated: https://larchedaybreak.com  Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24th, from 2-5 p.m. at L'Arche Daybreak, 11339 Yonge St., Richmond Hill, in the Dayspring Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 25th, at 10:30 a.m. in Richmond Hill United Church, 10201 Yonge St., Richmond Hill.

 

Reception following the Funeral Service at L'Arche Daybreak Meeting Hall, 11339 Yonge St., Richmond Hill. Cremation..
