McConnell PhilipMcCONNELL, Philip John, Ph.D.,  - January 18, 1945 - January 30, 2019

Philip passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 30, 2019 in the company of family at St Michael's Hospital in Toronto.

Beloved husband to Mary.

Loving father to Jeannine Gagné (late Terry 2017) and Marc Roy (Tracey). Cherished "Papa" to André, Jack and Levi.

Born in Coventry, England in 1945 and having immigrated to Canada in 1970, Philip touched the lives of people around the world through his music compositions.

He inspired generations of students through music, performance and travel.

"Doc" was a fixture in the schools where he worked: Earl Haig/Claude Watson, Newtonbrook, and Mackenzie, as an instructor, an advocate, a mentor and a friend to his students. His warmth and wicked sense of humour will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held at R.S. Kane 6150 Yonge St., on Sunday, February 10th, from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Trinity Parish, 3220 Bayview Ave., on Monday, February 11th at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Mooredale Concerts and Youth Orchestra would be appreciated.
